First thing noticeable of this magnificent bracelet is the high quality craftsmanship needed to craft the lovely sceneries of each link. Eight little pieces of art, each telling their own story in low relief in various colors of gold.

We have a strong feeling that these scenes refer to one or more (Japanese?) stories or fairy tales, but we were unable to trace back more information on it.

The technique used here is called "Damascening", "zougan" or "shakudo" which is the art of inlaying different metals into one another. The technique has a long history in Japan, where it was used to decorate sword fittings.
